Why He Won

Tremp had been contributing to The Armory Life for several years, producing high-quality work for both the website and the print magazine. In the year that earned him the award, his output was hard to miss.

He wrote cover stories for the print magazine on the Springfield Armory Echelon 9mm pistol and on the SAINT Victor 9mm Carbine. Alongside those, he handled launch-day reviews of new releases including the Model 2020 Rimfire series and the Model 2020 Redline rifle, and delivered in-depth reviews of numerous other new Springfield Armory products across the year.

Tremp's reviews combine range time with the filmmaking and photography work that first brought him into the industry.

His route into writing was almost accidental. Tremp had always told stories through video, and had never had the chance to write until editor-in-chief Mike Humphries asked him to produce an article for the site. That single conversation, as he tells it, turned into years of covering the company's biggest launches — work he said “scratches a creative itch” unlike anything else.

Tremp said contributing to The Armory Life made him a better communicator and increased his thirst for adventure and storytelling. On winning the 2023 Cantius Award

About Jeremy Tremp

Portrait of Jeremy Tremp wearing a ball cap.

Jeremy Tremp is a filmmaker and photographer who turned his passion for the firearms industry into a dream job.

Having identified a need in the 2A space, he and some like-minded friends started Offensive Marketing Group to bring their skill sets to an industry he felt badly needed outside-the-box marketing approaches.

One of the perks of the work is access to some of the best gear and training in the industry. In his spare time he is usually at the range, testing equipment and working at becoming a better shooter, firearms advocate and content creator.
